RESiNMAG.COM: Where were you born?

TODD MARiNOViCH: Just outside Oakland, Ca. a town called San Leandro.

RESiNMAG.COM: Where do you reside?

TODD MARiNOViCH: Balboa, Ca.

RESiNMAG.COM: How old were you when you realized you had artistic talent?

TODD MARiNOViCH: Very young probably Kindergarden.

RESiNMAG.COM: What was your first completed piece of?

TODD MARiNOViCH: We were living in Hawaii at the time. I was 5 years old. Right before we moved there my Mom took me to see Jaws. To this day she gets embarrassed for taking me so young. Anyway, I recreated the movie poster for a school project. Remember the poster? A woman swimming on the surface and the shark coming up from the depths. I vividly remember the shocked look on the teachers face. She said I had to draw a bikini on the woman immediately. I did but didn't understand why. “What I did understand from that moment on was the power of art.”

RESiNMAG.COM: Is that when you new that is what you wanted to do with your life?

TODD MARiNOViCH: No, it took some 35 more years.

RESiNMAG.COM: What style of painting are you? More than one, which is your favorite?

TODD MARiNOViCH: I never like categories or labels. When I turn friends on to new music and they ask "what style is it?" I usually respond "just check it out" and the same goes for my art.

RESiNMAG.COM: How would you describe your own work in a sentence?

TODD MARiNOViCH: An intangible quality that exudes feeling.

RESiNMAG.COM: What kind of Art schooling have you had?

TODD MARiNOViCH: Art class through grade school and high school was always never long enough. It flew by. I went to the University of Southern California. My sophomore year I declared Fine Art as my major but after a semester I turned pro to play football in the NFL. That short period was the only time I really enjoyed school.

RESiNMAG.COM: What or who inspires you to paint and what you paint?

TODD MARiNOViCH: For me it's not what I paint, it's the process of painting that's inspiring. It's nourishment. Nothing of this world gives me what the act of creating does.

RESiNMAG.COM: Who are some of your favorite artists?

TODD MARiNOViCH: There are too many to mention. But the one who has impacted my work more than any other is my mentor and friend Jerome Gastaldi.
